Bold innovations, new partnerships, and our dedicated community of supporters made last year Variety’s most impactful in our storied history. With demand continuing to soar, Variety now actively serves a record 1,400 local families! Each of Variety’s core and enrichment programs saw significant growth reflected by record outputs and powerful feedback from families.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Medical Equipment program provides physician-prescribed adaptive equipment and assistive technology to help Variety Kids navigate and engage in their worlds more independently. This past year:
- 497 pieces of medical equipment were provided including wheelchairs, walkers, orthotics, communication devices, vehicle modifications, standers, safety beds, and much more.
- 372 unique Variety Kids received essential equipment to improve mobility, communication, safety, hygiene, and activity.
- 88% of kids used their equipment every single day.
- 2.2 million hours of total equipment usage. (3% increase)
- 95% of participants gained SKILLS to engage and experience their world more fully.
- New My Voice® initiative provided communication devices to empower kids to express themselves freely and confidently, break down social barriers, and improve learning experiences for a brighter future.
THERHAPPY KIDS
TherHappy Kids program provides access to physical, occupational, and speech therapy services that develop the skills needed for daily life. This past year:
- 211 Variety Kids received therapy to increase independence at home, school, and in the community. (5% increase)
- 3,942 hours of therapy improved strength, endurance, and mobility. (9% increase)
- 85% of participants gained INDEPENDENCE as a direct result of the TherHappy Kids program.
RECREATION & ADVENTURE CAMP
Recreation & Adventure Camp provide engaging group activities to explore new opportunities, build confidence, and develop lasting friendships. This past year:
- 254 Variety Kids and Teens participated in Adventure Camp. (19% increase)
- 354 week-long camp sessions provided.
- 14,538 hours of engaging activities and recreation. (31% increase)
- 91% of participants improved their SOCIALIZATION as a result of Variety’s Recreation programs.
PERFORMING ARTS
Performing Arts programs nurture performance skills while fostering friendships and building confidence. This past year:
- 51 unique Variety Kids and Teens participated in Variety Theatre, Chorus, and Dance programs.
- 3,638 hours of performing arts instruction from professional local artists. (17% increase)
- 100% of participants improved SELF-ESTEEM, demonstrating increased belief in themselves, their abilities, and their possibilities.
