In the interest of the health and safety of our Variety Kids and supporters during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Variety St. Louis is continuously making updates based on current advice and regulations from the CDC as well as local and regional health departments. While we are all facing challenges due to COVID-19, children with disabilities are among those most vulnerable to the virus. Their families are experiencing the consequences of the pandemic, including a lack of the resources and tools Variety Kids need to do continue making the impossible, possible.

That’s why we are committed to providing them with uninterrupted access to vital services. And it’s why we need your help, now more than ever.

In the interest of the health and safety of our Variety Kids and supporters during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Variety St. Louis made the decision to cancel and not reschedule our Variety Week 2020 and 2021 events. This includes Runway Lights Fashion Show, Variety Family Celebration Day and Dinner with the Stars. Variety Theatre’s 2020 fall production of The Music Man, originally postponed to October 2021, is also now cancelled.

Stay tuned as we continue to plan future events, both virtual and in-person!

Children with special needs are especially vulnerable to the virus. Variety will continue to provide uninterrupted access to critical equipment, therapy services and programs.

During this time, however, we may need to make adjustments to certain programs. Program-specific changes will be sent to those families involved in each program via email.

If your child with special needs is in need of assistance, applications for our programs are available and open – click here for more information and to apply for help today. We are working to ensure our services include assistance for the equipment and therapies, like telehealth therapy sessions, that are most needed during this difficult time. In addition, we are considering special circumstances, such as a loss of income, when reviewing applications for financial assistance. Please be sure to contact us with your specific needs so that we can make every effort to assist you and your family.

Looking for a way for your child with a disability to safely connect with friends during these times? Sign up for our Variety Family Social Groups and join their virtual hangouts! Kid (ages 4 – 12) and Teen (ages 13 – 20) groups are available – typically, they meet in-person for fun outings such as the movies and bowling, but they are meeting virtually for now.

The Variety St. Louis office is currently open and the majority of staff members are working in the office full-time. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
We ask that all visitors schedule time to come in, when possible, and that they check in at the front desk for contact tracing purposes. In addition, we do ask that all visitors and staff members please wear a mask. And, of course, if any visitors or staff members are feeling ill, please refrain from coming into the office, even if you are vaccinated.
