Welcome to Variety, Renee!
We are excited to announce Renee Owens as our new Senior Programs Coordinator at Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis! She is responsible for overseeing Variety programs, specifically within recreation such as Adventure Camp and Curtain Call.
Renee graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Child Education. She is certified in Special Education K-12 Cross-Categorial and Elementary Education Grades 1-6.
She began her career as a Special Education Teacher through Special School District at Bayless Jr. High School in the Bayless School District for three years. Renee taught as a grade 6-8 resource teacher with an emphasis in math.
Renee says, “I am so excited to be serving the community of kids, young adults, and their families that encouraged me to go into special education. I was a camp counselor when I was in high school for Variety, and Variety is why I wanted to spend my life and career helping people with disabilities.”
Due to her background in education, Renee’s knowledge, ambition and excitement makes her an incredible asset to the Variety Team and Kids.
Congratulations to Renee and her fiancé Joe, who will be tying the knot this November! Renee loves playing and coaching volleyball, spending time with friends, and hanging out with her two dogs Belle and Shiloh. She also enjoys being in the kitchen cooking and is considered a grilling master.
Please join us in giving Renee a warm welcome! If you need to reach Renee, you can contact her by email or by phone at 314.720.7718.
