We are delighted to introduce Kayla, who has recently joined the Variety St. Louis team as our Human Resources Coordinator. In this vital role, Kayla will support both our administrative and finance teams, providing guidance and leadership across HR initiatives as we continue to grow and empower local children and teens with disabilities.
Before stepping into the nonprofit world, Kayla served our country for seven years in the United States Air Force, where she held roles as both a Military Police Officer and Training Manager. Her military background has instilled in her a deep sense of leadership and compassion — qualities she now brings to Variety’s mission.
Continuing her commitment to service, Kayla earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Webster University in 2019, followed by a Master’s in Human Resources Management in 2022. Prior to joining our team, Kayla worked at Shriners Children’s Hospital, where she supported a team dedicated to pediatric care and family-centered services.
“I am so excited to be part of Variety and to support this incredible mission,” Kayla shares. “My hope is to help every team member here reach and exceed their goals, and to build a long and meaningful career alongside people doing truly remarkable work.”
Originally from South Jersey, Kayla moved to St. Louis in 2017 — her husband’s hometown and the place his family calls home. This May, Kayla and her Zach, will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary. Together, they are raising two wonderful children: Jameson (6), who keeps them busy with baseball, martial arts, and basketball depending on the season, and Charlie (1), the family’s energetic and joyful youngest.
When she’s not at work or cheering from the sidelines at one of Jameson’s games, Kayla enjoys crocheting, baking, cooking, and attending concerts and sporting events. A lifelong music lover, she’s proud to have seen her favorite band, All Time Low, perform 29 times since she was just 14!
