Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis is thrilled to welcome Jonelle Masciotti as our new Director of Development. With nearly two decades of experience advancing mission-driven fundraising for national nonprofits, Jonelle brings both strategic expertise and a deep passion for creating meaningful impact for children and families.

In her role, Jonelle will guide the vision, strategy, and execution of Variety’s fundraising efforts, ensuring the resources needed to empower more local children with disabilities across the St. Louis region. Her leadership will play a critical role in helping Variety continue to grow, innovate, and support the children and families who rely on our services.

“I’m honored to join an organization that has such a profound impact on children and families in our community,” Jonelle shared. “I’ve seen firsthand how Variety changes not only a child’s life, but an entire family’s. That impact gives me the motivation to ensure these services never fade, and I’m excited to help expand the programs and resources that empower kids with disabilities across St. Louis.”

Jonelle joins Variety from the American Cancer Society, where she served as Associate Director of Development, leading more than $2 million annually in fundraising through individual giving, campaigns, and donor engagement. Previously, she spent nearly seven years as Director of Development for the Derek Jeter Turn 2 Foundation, helping raise more than $3 million annually through major gifts, corporate partnerships, and signature events. She began her career with the United States Tennis Association, supporting sponsor activations and donor engagement at major events including the US Open.

“Jonelle brings an exceptional blend of strategic vision, relationship-building expertise, and national development experience,” said Variety CEO Brian Roy. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the Variety team. Her leadership will help ensure we can grow our capacity and continue to empower local children who depend on us.”

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jonelle brings a fun and energetic spirit to the team. Born and raised in Michigan before moving to New York at a young age, she now calls St. Louis home with her husband, Marc, their two young children, Sebastian and Olive, and their cat, Rose. Marc is a chef, making them both enthusiastic foodies who love exploring St. Louis’s vibrant food scene. Outside of work, Jonelle enjoys trivia nights and game nights with friends, and her ideal day starts with a bagel from Lefty’s followed by a family adventure to a new playground—Veterans Park currently being a favorite. A final fun fact: Jonelle’s very first job out of college was dancing on a Disney Cruise Line ship; a fitting start for someone who brings energy, creativity, and joy to everything she does.

Please join us in giving Jonelle a warm welcome to Variety. We are excited for the leadership, heart, and enthusiasm she brings as we continue working together to empower children with disabilities and their families throughout our community.

If you need to reach Jonelle, please contact her by phone at 314-720-7707.
