Socialization
through Recreation

Variety’s Recreation programs, which includes
Adventure Camp, aim to introduce lifelong friendships
through engaging activities

Making Friends and Having Fun

Variety’s Recreation programs give children with disabilities unique in-person opportunities to enjoy engaging activities while socializing with friends old and new.

From Adventure Camp and more, these programs, which are open to Variety Kids living in the greater St. Louis region, help participants learn new skills, gain independence, build confidence, and more, by having fun.

Adventure Camp

At Camp, Variety Kids are empowered to form friendships, try new things, grow in self-esteem, and explore the world around them with independence and confidence.

Variety’s Adventure Camps are for ages 4 – 20, and provide an unforgettable experience for local children and teens with disabilities living in the 30 Missouri and Illinois counties Variety St. Louis serves. Each camper is paired with a counselor “buddy” to ensure their needs are met each day.

Campers are split into groups based on age to enjoy activities geared more toward their interests. Activities include swimming, ice skating, fishing, playing games, making crafts, music time, visiting area attractions and much more, all under the guidance of a caring and enthusiastic staff.

Summer Camp

Camp takes place in week-long sessions offered in June and July, Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The location of camp changes daily to accommodate different activities and adventures, but each is located within the St. Louis region.

Dates for Summer Camp 2026:

Week 1: June 1-5 — Over the STL area
Week 2: June 8-12 — St. Charles County
Week 3: June 15-19 — South County
Week 4: June 22-26 — North County
Week 5: July 6-10 — Over the STL area

*** REGISTRATION FOR ADVENTURE CAMP 2026 WILL OPEN MID MARCH ***

Campers are guaranteed one week of attendance and may be offered an additional week depending on availability. At this time, we can only guarantee one week of camp per camper.

All campers must turn in the following documents NO LATER THAN MAY 1, 2026:

  • Camper Medication Permission Form (if applicable): If your child needs to be administered any medication (over the counter or prescribed) during their time at camp, the Medication Permission Form will be needed prior to camp.
  • Physical form: Each camper is required to have an up-to-date physical form on file with us that is less than one year old at the time they attend camp.
  • Immunization records
  • $100 deposit via a personal check: This is just to hold your child’s spot; Checks will only be deposited after summer camp if a camper does not show up to their designated week of camp and that absence is not communicated with camp management. Since this is a deposit, we cannot accept a money order, cashier’s check, cash or electronic payments
  •  Action Plan, if applicable. (i.e. Seizure Action Plan, Food Allergy, etc)

Please download and fill out the two documents below. You will be able to upload them during the registration process, or you can fax or email completed documents once registration is live.
