Important Updates

In the interest of the health and safety of our Variety Kids and supporters during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Variety St. Louis has made several moves and changes. On this page, you will find the most up-to-date information regarding event refund options, how you can continue to support Variety Kids and much more. Last updated: 6/18/20

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

If you are looking for more information regarding COVID-19, including how it may affect those who, like Variety Kids, are immunocompromised, we recommend visiting the CDC website

Help A Variety Kid

While we are all facing challenges due to COVID-19, children with disabilities are among those most vulnerable to the virus. Their families are already experiencing the consequences of the pandemic, including a lack of the resources and tools Variety Kids need to do continue making the impossible, possible.

That’s why we are committed to providing them with uninterrupted access to vital services, even following the necessary cancellation of our pillar fundraising events. And it’s why we need your help, now more than ever.

Now through the end of May, join us in the Variety Makes Possible campaign to raise funds to help Variety Kids live amazing lives, even in the midst of this pandemic. Give now at or call Brett Schott at 314-720-7707. Thank you!

Variety Events

In the interest of the health and safety of our Variety Kids and supporters during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Variety St. Louis made the decision to cancel and not reschedule our Variety Week 2020 events. This includes Runway Lights Fashion Show (April 18), Variety Family Celebration Day (April 19) and Dinner with the Stars featuring Steely Dan (April 25). Details about each of these events can be found below.

Runway Lights Fashion Show

If you already purchased a ticket or table, you will be contacted directly to discuss your options. Please contact Mary Murawski via email or at 314-720-7712 with any questions.

Variety Family Celebration Day

As registration for this free event was not yet open, there is no action needed on the part of our Variety Families. Please contact Mo Taylor via email with any questions.

Variety in the Morning

Out of concern for their staff and guests, Fox 2 News and KPLR 11 has decided to limit in-person interviews and studio visits during this time. More details regarding Variety Kids or their families featured on the news will be announced when they are available.

Dinner with the Stars

If you purchased a ticket or table through our website to attend the gala, you will be contacted directly to discuss your options. Please contact Brett Schott via email or at 314-720-7717 with any questions.

If you purchased a show-only ticket through Ticketmaster, they will contact you directly regarding your refund. Please contact Ticketmaster with any questions regarding these tickets.

Variety Programs

Children with special needs are especially vulnerable to the virus. Variety will continue to provide uninterrupted access to critical equipment, therapy services and programs.

During this time, however, we will need to make adjustments to certain programs. Program-specific changes will be sent to those families involved in each program via email.

If your child with special needs is in need of assistance, applications for our programs are available and open - click here for more information and to apply for help today. We are working to ensure our services include assistance for the equipment and therapies, like telehealth therapy sessions, that are most needed during this difficult time. In addition, we are considering special circumstances, such as a loss of income, when reviewing applications for financial assistance. Please be sure to contact us with your specific needs so that we can make every effort to help you.

Virtual Adventure Camp

This summer, we have made the move to a free virtual Adventure Camp and Teen Camp, using the platform. Through this platform, campers are able to make crafts, play games, take virtual field trips, sing songs, spend time with friends and more, all from the safety of their homes. All materials and instructions for all projects and activities will be provided!

Due to high interest, we have opened up an application for our July 2020 virtual Camp sessions. Campers need only have a medically diagnosed physical or developmental disability and be between the ages of 4 and 20. Families can click here to learn more and click here to apply now - registration will close when we reach capacity or at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 29, whichever comes first!

Variety Staff

At this time, no Variety staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of concern for our staff, their families and our Variety Kids, however, the office is currently closed to the public unless there are special circumstances, such as picking up camp materials. In those cases, the appropriate people will be invited to the office. Staff members are starting to rotate back into the office, but most are still working remotely most days and may be contacted via email. We are also receiving mail and faxes at this time.
