We are excited to announce Mary Serafino as the new Communications Manager at Variety the Children’s Charity St. Louis! Mary will lead all internal and external communications efforts. In addition to expanding the impact of Variety’s public relations, digital media marketing, and audience engagement, Mary will also help lead the planning and implementation of cross-channel communications to support the initiatives of all departments and Variety’s overall strategic plan.

Mary’s passion for creative storytelling combined with her desire to positively impact the lives of others makes her a great fit for this role. She shares, “In the great scheme of ‘stories yet to be told,’ I can think of few that are as worthy of sharing as the stories of Variety Kids. They motivate me toward joy, generosity, and hope. It’s a privilege to witness and share them with others.”

Since 2015, Mary has worked in marketing and communications for local non-profits, growing audience, donor engagement, and awareness for charitable causes. In her most recent position as Communications Specialist at a local non-profit, Mary combined her marketing and graphic design skills by developing and creating internal and external collateral. Mary also has over a decade of experience managing fundraising events and mentoring interns and students in effective communication skills.

Mary enjoys a wide range of creative outlets including graphic design, photography, cooking, and music, and has been singing professionally for over 15 years. Her love for adventure and hiking has taken her all over the world and introduced her to other ways of enjoying the outdoors, including kayaking, snorkeling, and rappelling. Still, one of her favorite places to be is wherever she can find a sunset or a starry sky.
