We are thrilled to introduce you to Britt Velasquez, our newest team member here at Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis.
Britt, who has a degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in adaptive physical and health education, is our new Program Team Specialist. Her wide range of experience leading programs for children, including at her recent role as program manager for the Children’s Home Society, makes her the perfect fit for this position.
When describing her role, Britt says, “I will be part of the awesome team that gets to change kiddos’ lives through having fun!”
Britt will assist with the planning and implementation of several Variety programs and services, including our Recreation programs like Adventure Camp.
Outside of work, Britt loves to camp, swim, travel, make Epoxy crafts, and attend musical theatre performances and concerts. She also plays rugby and serves as a coach and mentor for the sport.
Britt also enjoys spending time with her family. She recently got married – her wife, Amber, is a teacher. They have two dogs, a little healer mix named Rue and a big Newfoundland named Ramsey. Britt also has two sisters, one who is on the Autism spectrum and another who is studying theatre in New York City.
What excites her most about working at Variety? “I’m most looking forward to meeting the Variety Kids while having a blast at Camp,” she says.
