Do you want to make a difference this upcoming holiday season and make some extra money in the process? Apply to become a counselor at Variety’s Winter Camp!

Variety St. Louis is looking for kind, enthusiastic staff members and volunteers (ages 14+) to join our team for Winter Camp 2022 and Summer Camp 2023. Our unique camp programs are free to area children and teens (ages 4 – 20) with a physical or developmental disability. Counselors and volunteers work closely with campers to ensure the children have a fun and memorable experience while trying new things, participating in engaging activities, and making friends.

Winter Camp will take place in person at Parkway Northeast Middle School from December 26 through 30. Each day of Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

We are looking for staff in all paid positions – counselors, lead counselors, and specialists – as well as volunteer counselor assistants.

Counselors work one-on-one with a camper to provide support and encouragement through daily camp activities, which include games, crafts, cooking, music time, and more. Lead Counselors lead a group of campers and their counselors, assists, and guides as needed. Specialists plan and lead specialized activities, rotating between camper groups and working with all campers and counselors. Volunteer Counselor Assistants will be assigned to a child/counselor to provide additional support and encouragement throughout daily camp activities. Click here to learn more about each position.
