On Wednesday, February 6, a group of Variety Women and their friends gathered for an afternoon at the Variety Women’s Luncheon and Tennis Salon. Held at the Frontenac Racquet Club, this event gave these women a chance to get to know Variety – and each other – a little better.
Variety Woman Val Hoffman, who has been active with Variety since her first year out of college, generously hosted the event, which also featured Variety Mom Kris. While Val and Variety Women Chair Laura Ellenhorn each spoke to their personal experiences with Variety during lunch, it was Kris’ story of how Variety’s TherHappy Kids program has changed her son Drew’s life that drove home what Variety does for kids with special needs.
Following lunch, the Variety Women and their guests had a blast on the court, spending an hour or so playing tennis together and getting acquainted.
In all, it was a fun afternoon that also raised awareness for Variety and our events, especially Runway Lights Fashion Show. One of the guests even decided to officially join as a Variety Woman! Thank you to the 30 women who came out and enjoyed this day with us, and for all you do for Variety Kids. And thank you to Val for being a fantastic hostess!
