We are often reminded by how lucky we are to be a part of the St. Louis community. This city, and the surrounding area, is filled with philanthropic individuals and organizations that are not only willing, but also excited, to give back.
Today, two of these fantastic organizations, Imo’s Pizza and The Cheak Foundation, presented Variety with donations that will further our mission of helping local children with disabilities reach their full potential.
Imo’s has long been a supporter of Variety – St. Louis. This year, the restaurant promoted a three-month-long special during which $1 from each sale of a Variety Box benefited Variety. Through this promotion, Imo’s raised a total of $50,000 for durable medical equipment necessary for the growth and development of Variety Kids. These pieces of equipment help children achieve mobility, strength, independence and so much more.
Imo’s also introduced the Cheak Foundation to our mission. The foundation’s goal is to improve the lives of children with many different needs, and their annual Sally Craig Memorial Golf Tournament is just one way they fulfill that goal. Through their relationship with Imo’s, which sponsors the tournament, the Cheak Foundation found Variety and chose us to receive $4,000 that was raised through the event.
Executive Director Brian and Variety Teen Mollie visited Imo’s today to accept these generous donations on behalf of Variety. Mollie was thrilled to take part in the presentation, knowing that these funds will go towards helping others like her.
“Variety is a great organization,” says Mollie, complete with a big smile.
Thank you, Imo’s and the Cheak Foundation, for your generosity and support. And thank you to each and every one of you who enjoyed a pizza or a round of golf to help Variety Kids.
