Featuring fashions from world-famous designers on the region’s top models, Runway Lights Fashion Show is the city’s can’t- miss fashion event. Taking place at Union Station on April 18, 2020, this year’s show will showcase sensational evening gowns from none other than Talbot Runhof! The event will also feature the gorgeous whimsical purse designer, Judith Leiber. Thelma Steward continues to bring her creative inspiration as the honorary chair of this event alongside co-chairs Mary and Kimberly Steward.
Since 2000, designers Johnny Talbot and Adrian Runhof have been collaborating to design glamorous evening gowns and cocktail dresses with a “passion for fine fabrics, perfect cuts, and extravagant details.” They have now expanded their lines to include day dresses, outfits, coats and accessories, all designed under the same philosophy. The inspiration for their Pre-Fall 2020/2021 collection, on display at Runway Lights 2020, comes from Jacqueline Susann’s “Valley of the Dolls” and its 50th anniversary of “campy dialogue, over-the-top performances and fabulous fashion.” The collection is filled with ultra- feminine statement pieces in color palates of “creamy blush, Galapagos blue, azalea pink, deep navy and black, gilded with metallics of silver, gold, copper and aurora borealis.”
World famous Judith Leiber bags will accompany the Talbot Runhof fashions down the runway. Judith Leiber is world-renowned for her exquisite hand bags, pillboxes, and other accessories. All of her accessories, ranging from an ice cream cone evening bag to a classic clutch, are all handmade with beautiful crystals and satins.
You will be able to see both of these stunning designers at Runway Lights Fashion Show 2020 as they are showcased by the region’s top models. Three Ameren Power Kids will also take the runway in their own couture dresses designed by Talbot Runhof to demonstrate the independence and mobility made possible by their power wheelchairs.
The event will also include an elegant luncheon created by local chef Greg Maggi, followed by a live auction, as well as a delightful cocktail hour and silent auction. Variety Women will lead a “Fund-a-Need” to raise funds for Variety’s TherHappy Kids program, which provides kids with disabilities (Variety Kids) with access to vital therapy services. Underwritten by the Steward Family Foundation and World Wide Technology, and supported by The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation, all proceeds from the event benefit Variety Kids.
