We are pleased to share that Lucy Schapman will play Gracie Shinn in this fall’s Variety Theatre production of The Music Man!
Lucy was a part of the inclusive Children’s Ensemble for our 2018 production of The Little Mermaid and last year’s show, Mary Poppins. She shares that she is most looking forward to putting on a great show with all of her Variety friends.
“My favorite part of Variety Theatre is working with so many amazing people and meeting new people every year,” says Lucy. “There are so many wonderful people involved with Variety.”
She also shares that Variety Theatre has taught her many skills and life lessons.
“I’ve been able to understand acting much more and, most importantly, gain confidence to make new friends and just be myself,” she says.
The people she is most excited about working with this year are the actors joining her to make up the Shinn family. This includes Variety Teen Jenna Balmer, who will play Gracie’s sister Zaneeta.
“The Shinn family in The Music Man is so much fun,” Lucy exclaims. “It’s going to be a blast working with the other actors to create this quirky family!”
Finding out she got the role will be a memory she treasures forever. “I couldn’t stop talking about how excited I was to play Gracie – just ask my parents!” Lucy says with a smile.
Lucy will take the stage alongside professional adults and an inclusive Children’s Ensemble this October 16 – 18 and 23 – 25, 2020. Tickets will go on sale on September 4 of this year! Learn more about Variety Theatre here.
