We are pleased to introduce you to Taylor Gilbert, the talented young lady who will be taking on the role of Jane Banks in this year’s Variety Theatre production of Mary Poppins.
Taylor is honored to be playing the role of Jane. When asked about how she found out she landed the part, she said, “I was super excited, jumping up and down and so happy - it was a very special moment for me!”
“I was excited not only for being cast as Jane Banks, but because I love doing theatre productions with Variety,” Taylor continued. “I truly enjoy being with such an amazing and talented cast, but most importantly spending time with the Variety Kids, making friends and helping them in any way I can. Variety Theatre is a great experience and is very special to me!”
This isn’t the first time Taylor has been involved with Variety. Taylor was a member of the Children’s Ensemble for Variety Theatre’s 2018 production, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, as well as our 2017 production of The Wizard of Oz. She is also a member of the inclusive Variety’s Children’s Chorus and has performed at various venues around St. Louis with the group.
“I am fortunate to be a part of the Variety family again,” said Taylor.
Taylor’s other theatre credits include Father Scheid’s 2015 production of The Wizard of Oz (Munchkin/Lullaby League), St. Dominic High School’s 2015 A Christmas Carol (Lucy Cratchit), and St. Dominic’s 2018 A Christmas Story (Esther Jane). Outside of theatre, Taylor loves dancing, practicing piano, playing softball, reading, and writing music.
You can see Taylor on stage alongside a professional adult cast and inclusive Children’s Ensemble October 18 – 20 and October 25 – 27, 2019 at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. Tickets go on sale in early August. Learn more about Variety Theatre here.
