As we get closer to Halloween, it’s the perfect time to make your own Jack O’ Lantern. This week’s cut-out Jack O’ Lantern craft brings all of the fun minus the mess. Plus, your pumpkin will never rot, and you can save it for next year!

There are a few ways to make this craft. You can either use coloring utensils or felt to make your Jack O’ Lantern your very own! Follow the instructions and tips below.

Cut-Out Jack O’ Lantern Craft

What You’ll Need:

*If you don’t have a printer, you can draw your own pumpkin and face, or hold up paper or felt to your computer screen and trace the designs!

Instructions:

Option 1: Felt Jack O’ Lantern

  1. Print out our free Jack O’ Lantern printable (or hold up your felt to your screen and trace the designs).
  2. Cut out all of the pieces from the paper.
  3. Use a marker to trace the pieces onto felt, using whatever color felt you want!
  4. Cut out the felt pieces.
  5. Put double-sided or rolled tape on the back of all of the eyes, nose and mouth pieces – you don’t want tape on the back of the pumpkin.
  6. Tape your favorite eyes, nose and mouth pieces onto your pumpkin to create your own Jack O’ Lantern face!
  7. Want to change it up? You can remove the eyes, nose and mouth at any time and replace them with new ones to create a whole new Jack O’ Lantern!

Option 2: Paper Jack O’ Lantern

  1. Print out our free Jack O’ Lantern printable (or use it as inspiration to draw your own).
  2. Color in all of the pieces using your favorite coloring utensils – crayons, makers or colored pencils will work!
  3. Cut out all of the pieces from the paper.
  4. Pick the eyes, nose and mouth pieces you want to use for your Jack O’ Lantern.
  5. Put double-sided or rolled tape on the back of your selected pieces, except for the pumpkin itself.
  6. Tape your favorite eyes, nose and mouth pieces onto your pumpkin to create your very own Jack O’ Lantern!

When you’re done, don’t forget to hang your pumpkin up for everyone to see! And be sure to share photos of your super awesome Jack O’ Lanterns on our social media – tag us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter at @VarietySTL.

Have a spooky good time!
