On Saturday, April 27, 2019, Greater Midwest Baseball (GMB) hosted the “Variety High School Round Robin” baseball tournament in support of Variety Kids. The tournament, which took place at the Ballwin Athletic Association, featured three high school baseball teams in three games.
The Morton, IL Potters and the Ladue Horton Watkins Rams kicked off the day with a morning game before the Clayton Greyhounds faced off against Morton in the afternoon. For the final game of the day, Ladue and Clayton played for the Variety championship, with Clayton winning it all.
After the game, Clayton was presented with the Variety Champions’ plaque, and Variety St. Louis was presented with a $1,000 donation from GMB. This generous gift will help local kids and teens with special needs through access to medical equipment and therapies and the opportunity to participate in Camp and Performing Arts programs. Who knows, maybe this donation will help one of our own Variety Kids play baseball!
Thank you to GMB for your continued support of Variety Kids! We’d also like to thank the three teams for their support through their participation in the tournament. And congratulations to Clayton on the big win!
