Apply Now for a Free Bike!

A Variety Teen poses with his new bike and a big smile on his face at the 2019 Bikes for Kids event.

Are you looking for a standard bike for your child with a disability? Did you know that Variety St. Louis provides free standard bikes to area kids and teens? That’s right – each November, we give away hundreds of standard bikes at our Bikes for Kids event! Applications are now open – click here to apply by September 17 and keep reading for more info.

This year’s Bikes for Kids event will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Parkway Central High School (369 N Woods Mill Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63017). On that day, we’ll present children with the gift of freedom, independence and fun in the form of a bicycle.

To apply for your child to be one of those gifted with a standard bike at Bikes for Kids 2021, the following requirements must be met:

  • The bike recipient is under the age of 21 and lives in one of the 15 Missouri and Illinois counties we serve in the St. Louis region
  • The bike recipient has a medically diagnosed disability
  • A parent, guardian or caregiver is able to pick up the child's bike and transport it home from the 2021 Bikes for Kids event on November 20

We are working diligently to create a safe Bikes for Kids event for all involved, so the event time and health and safety protocols will be announced at a later date. You can be sure, however, that the health of our bike recipients and their families is our top priority!

If you’d like to apply to receive a standard bike and helmet for your child (training wheels also available for 12” and 16” bikes upon request), click here to fill out an application now. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021!
