All Smiles for a Camp Grant from the Frees Foundation

When Richard Frees passed away in 2006, his mom, Jean, wanted to find a way to celebrate his memory. As Richard was developmentally disabled, she felt that the best way to honor her son would be to help other children with disabilities. She then created the Charles W. Frees and Jean H. Frees Foundation.

The purpose of this foundation is to provide assistance in the treatment, and research in the field, of children with both developmental and physical disabilities. This foundation offers funding to organizations that serve and care for children with special needs – and Variety St. Louis is one of those organizations.

We are pleased to announce that the Frees Foundation has once again presented a grant for Variety’s Adventure Camp program. This grant will allow Variety St. Louis to continue to provide this free day camp to children with disabilities across the area. And this summer marks the eighth summer of assistance from the foundation.

Thank you, Frees Foundation, for continuing to support Adventure Camp. Because of you, Variety Kids are able to have a true camp experience, complete with fun activities, new friends, big smiles and so much more.
