There’s Still Time to be Eligible for 2018 YOP Tax Credits

Did you know that you could receive Missouri state tax credits by donating to support Variety’s Adventure Camp program? That’s right – you can help Variety Kids have a fun camp experience and receive a reduction in taxes you owe the state of Missouri.

All you need to do is donate by the end of the year to receive 2018 tax credits through Missouri’s Youth Opportunity Program (YOP). Through YOP, taxpayers who contribute to a participating program, like Adventure Camp, may receive up to 50 percent in Missouri state tax credits. Donors must contribute a minimum of $1,000 per calendar year, while credits remain, in order to receive these credits. Additional gifts may be made, but must be in increments of $1,000.

By giving to Adventure Camp, your generosity will provide local children and teens with disabilities with a wide range of experiences they might not have anywhere else. From rock climbing to sports to swimming to ice skating, this free day camp is all about turning the seemingly impossible into the possible.

Adventure Camp is available to those ages 4 to 16 and a Teen Camp is offered to youth ages 14 to 20. A specially trained counselor assists each child or teen one-on-one, and medical professionals are also on-site each day. Variety places great emphasis on safety, proper equipment and expert instruction, all adjusted for each camper’s ability level.

It is our goal to improve a wide range of abilities, such as unique skills, socialization, self-esteem and independence, and we believe that this program accomplishes all of this and more.
