Marketing & Sales Director

Reports to Executive Director (ED)

•    In cooperation with Executive Director, leverages resources and corporate relationships throughout Variety to ensure synergy and maximize revenues

•    Develop sales strategy including packages of key rights and benefits, pricing, and master sales materials (with input from ED)

•    Develop and implement event attendance sales strategy

•    Secure cooperation from other staff and departments for delivery of sponsor marketing benefits to corporate partners (e.g., advertising, recognition,    mailing list use, member access, web site presence, etc.)

•    Research targeted categories and primary prospects. Learn business hot buttons, leveraging techniques and distribution channels. Identify individual    company objectives and determine strategy for achieving objectives

•    Identify and prioritize prospective partners

•    Prepare sales materials and presentations. Tailor Strategic Partner sales materials including customized promotional overlays and activation strategies for each targeted category based on prospect hot buttons/objectives

•    Solicit and negotiate sponsor packages in priority order: current programs, new programs

•    Works with Variety departments to secure needed prospect data related to corporate relationships (e.g., sponsor awareness, propensity to purchase,    sponsor loyalty, etc.) and event ticket sales

•    Reviews all contracts and secures ED approval and signature

•    Enforces corporate marketing policies across all departments that impact sponsorship

•    Reports on partnership activities to necessary constituents (e.g., Board, Executive Director, etc.)

•    Facilitate annual Variety Leadership Group meetings

•    Manage Manager of Special Events
