Variety St. Louis’ pillar fundraising campaign, Variety Week, is coming up soon! We hope you’ll join us April 6 – 13, 2019 for many fun events that celebrate and support the local kids and teens with special needs we serve.
By participating in even one event, you’ll provide these Variety Kids with access to equipment and therapy and the opportunity to partake in innovative Camp and Performing Arts programs. Mark your calendars now – we promise you won’t want to miss a minute.
April 6: Runway Lights Fashion Show - Runway Lights Fashion Show 2019, chaired by Thelma Steward and co-chaired by Kimberly Steward and Mary Steward, will feature the sophisticated, modern designs of Lafayette 148 New York. In addition to the region’s top models, you’ll also find our own Ameren Power Kids on the runway, demonstrating their amazing power wheelchairs. The event will also include a delicious luncheon, silent and live auctions and more. Thanks to support from The Steward Family Foundation, World Wide Technology and Neiman Marcus, all proceeds will benefit TherHappy Kids, Variety's program that provides kids with special needs with access to a wide range of needed therapy services. Tickets and tables are available here.
April 7: Family Celebration Day - Variety Kids and their families are invited to join us for a free day of fun all ages and abilities! Held from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Catch 22 Miracle Field at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex, the day will include activities and entertainment for the whole family. Therapeutic bikes will be back, as well the Bubble Bus, photo booth and more. New this year, we’ll also have accessible inflatable games! Food will be provided. Variety families must RSVP in advance by April 1 – click here to register your family today.
April 9: Variety in the Morning - You’ll want to tune in to “Fox 2 in the Morning” from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on April 9. On this day, the show becomes “Variety in the Morning,” when Variety Kids and Teens take over the station to bring you their take on the day’s news, weather and traffic.
April 10: Imo's for Kids Day - It’s easy to help Variety Kids by ordering your favorite meal (or two) from your local Imo’s on April 10. A percentage of each store’s sales on this day will go to help Variety Kids – now that’s what we call the Care Beyond Compare!
April 13: Dinner with the Stars - Dinner with the Stars has been Variety St. Louis’ premier black tie gala for more than half a century. Chaired by Marilyn Fox, this star-studded event brings together some of St. Louis’ most esteemed philanthropic citizens to celebrate Variety and enjoy a memorable performance by an iconic headlining entertainer. This year’s talented headliner will be 17-time Grammy Award-winning and platinum-selling musician Sting! Also featured in the Variety program, hosted by hometown comedian Joe Torry, will be the inclusive Variety Children's Chorus as well as a celebration of this year's Man and Woman of the Year, Spencer Koch and Carol Staenberg. Generously underwritten by The Steward Family Foundation, World Wide Technology and the Centene Charitable Foundation, every dollar raised will go towards empowering Variety Kids through access to vital medical equipment, like wheelchairs, communication devices, hearing aids and more.
