We started summer 2019 off with a whole lot of fun during Adventure Camp Week 1! Every day, we made new memories as well as lifelong friends, all while conquering new challenges.
On Monday, we hung out at Forest Park. The highlight of the day was fishing – almost every camper caught at least one fish! – and we also played outside, met therapy dogs during Mutt-i-Grees Curriculum, sang songs and more.
Tuesday morning started at the Catch 22 Miracle Field at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex. We played a few games of baseball and also painted crafts and explored the playground. That afternoon, we headed indoors at Sports Fusion, where we climbed the inflatables, tested out the mini golf course and played super fun games like laser tag and dodge ball.
We celebrated the St. Louis Blues during “Blues Day” on Wednesday at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. Many campers and counselors wore their Blues gear for time on the ice, science experiments and more before changing into swimwear for an afternoon in the pool.
Thursday was all about animals. We spent the entire day at the St. Louis Zoo, learning about different creatures while watching animal shows, riding the train and carousel, exploring the Children’s Zoo and more.
Friday was another day jam-packed with fun. In the morning, we hung out at Crestwood Park, a great place to play on the playground, play sports, perform songs and dances, and even play with a giant cooler full of water beads. That afternoon, we headed to The Magic House, where we learned all about science, math and more while having a blast. Many campers’ favorite area was the Children’s Village, where they pretended to work in a grocery store, restaurant, library, baby hospital and more.
